Recipe: Low-Carb, Gluten-Free Crispy Avocado Wedges
As you can probably guess from my many food posts, I rarely go out of my way to eat low-carb meals. But when your beau is on the ketogenic diet, you find a way to make things work!
I whipped up these low-carb, keto-friendly crispy avocado wedges in our air fryer, and paired them with a spicy cumin aioli for dipping. They were super crispy, absolutely delicious, and also happen to be gluten-free!

Total Carbohydrate:
Ingredients:
- 2 small Hass avocados
- 1/4 cup Blue Diamond finely-sifted almond flour
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp Tony Cachere's Creole seasoning
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 cup pork rind crumbs
Aioli:
- 1/3 cup mayo
- 1/8 tsp cumin
- 1/8 tsp garlic powder
- 1/8 tsp Sriracha hot chili sauce
- 1/8 tsp Sambal Oelek chili garlic sauce
Instructions:
- If air fryer requires preheating, preheat to 420°
- Mix almond flour with garlic powder, onion powder and Creole seasoning in a shallow dish
- Slice avocados into 16 wedges, and coat each wedge with flour mixture
- Dip floured wedges into milk and dredge in pork rind dust
- Arrange wedges in air fryer and fry at 420° for 12 minutes
- Mix together ingredients for aioli and serve with finished avocado wedges. Enjoy!
For a creamier aioli, I used half parts regular mayo and Kewpie Japanese mayo. Crispy and well-seasoned on the outside with a warm, rich avocado interior, the avocado wedges paired amazingly with the spicy cumin aioli!
